The predicted salary is between 15 - 16 £ per hour.

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week). Part-time hours will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay: £20.13 - £22.51. Temporary for 6 months.

  • Post 1 - Meadowmill, 37 Hours per week. Working 4 shifts per week.
  • Post 2 - Meadowmill, 17.5 Hours per week. Working 2 shifts per week.
  • Post 3 - Ravenshugh, 37 Hours per week. Working 4 shifts per week.
  • Post 4 - Ravenshugh, 17.5 Hours per week. Working 2 shifts per week.

Days and Hours of Work: Monday - Sunday

  • Early Shift: 07:15-16:30
  • Late Shift: 14:00-23:15
  • Sleep ins required.

There is an enhancement for working out with core day hours of 9pm-7am. This is paid as one third of an hour extra for any hours worked between 9pm and 7am.

As part of a team, provide direct support to children and young people across the Long Term Support Service.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications: You must hold a minimum of either an HNC or an SVQ3 in Social Care, with a willingness to obtain the other qualification within a designated period in order to meet SSSC Registration requirements, or any other equivalent qualifications to meet SSSC Registration requirements, along with an ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

Willingness to undertake personal and professional training and development, as required.

Willingness to undertake Positive Behaviour Management training e.g. Team Teach once in post.

SSSC registration is an essential requirement of this role. If you are appointed and are not already a member of the relevant section of the SSSC Register, you will be required to apply for registration within 3 months of your start date to ensure that you are registered within the required 6 months.

Driving Licence: A full current driving licence is desirable for this post.

PVG Membership: This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
