Strategic Planning & Commissioning Officer (Unpaid Carers) We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to provide strategic leadership for carers policy, planning and service development across East Lothian HSCP.

The successful candidate will work with third sector, communities and health and social care partners to lead the implementation of East Lothian IJB Carers Strategy 2026-2029 and help prepare for the new Right to a Break for unpaid carers.

Job Details To deliver support for the overarching strategic planning, service design and innovation functions of East Lothian HSCP including:

  • Taking responsibility for specific areas of planning, commissioning, policy or strategy development or review.
  • Supporting partnership working across the range of strategic partnerships within East Lothian.
  • Supporting collaborative approaches to the development of policy, strategy and planning, involving citizens, communities, staff and partner agencies.
  • The planning and commissioning of services for care groups, localities and themes, such as prevention and tackling poverty and inequalities, including health inequalities .

Job Requirements Relevant Qualifications Educated to Degree level in a Social Work, health or other relevant discipline and/or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through previous experience.
