This is an East Lothian Health & Social Care Partnership integrated post. The successful candidate may choose NHS or ELC terms & conditions. This post is temporary for 6 months.

ELC Terms & Conditions: 35 Hours per Week Monday - Friday, 08:00-16:00 Grade 13, £73,726 - £83,051 per annum (£40.40 - £45.51 per hour).

NHS Terms & Conditions: 36 Hours per Week Monday - Friday Band 8B, £76,888 - £82,251 per annum.

Home or Hybrid working options can be discussed with candidates invited for interview. Please Note: All home/hybrid workers must live in the UK. Employees will be expected to attend Council offices for the duration of induction, and be on site in East Lothian workplaces, as required. Employees with a hybrid working arrangement in place will be office based and able to work from home, with permission, on an ad hoc basis.

Job Details: To lead the implementation of East Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership’s strategies through operational management of the NHS Lothian health services and East Lothian Council social care services, including responsibility for the employees and joint budgets in the HSCP and for ensuring efficiency, productivity and performance targets are achieved. To ensure professional leadership is provided for all employees and that meeting professional standards is integral to the way of working in East Lothian HSCP. Lead the integration of primary, community health, and social care services within the services, controlling resources, commissioning care and engaging directly with hospital services to lead on the prevention of admission and the facilitation of early discharge within the HSCP.

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant Qualifications (East Lothian Council): Registered Social Worker or Mental Health Nurse or Allied Health Professional.
  • Post Graduate professional qualification at diploma/degree level or in health/social care/social science related subject.
  • Recognised management qualification, e.g. MBA or MSc or evidence of equivalent senior management skills.
  • Evidence of continuous and recent professional development.
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) OR as a Registered Mental Health Nurse OR with The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is an essential requirement of this role.

PVG Membership: This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
