Hourly rate of pay: £19.45 – £21.75

East Lothian Children's Services have an exciting new opportunity and we are looking to recruit a temporary Family support worker to the Child Protection Team.
\\n
To work as part of the Child Protection team contributing to the delivery of services provided by Children’s Services to vulnerable children, young people, and their families in East Lothian.  
\\n
They will work alongside parents, carers and colleagues, supporting parents to develop their parenting capacities and safely care for their child(ren). They will be part of the CP team and undertake tasks identified by the Social Worker as part of the risk assessment and safety planning. They will supervise and support parents to have good quality safe family time with their child(ren) as well as directly undertaking work with Children & Young People.

All of Children’s Services is located in an open plan office with onsite parking and we promote an open, trusting and communicative culture at all levels of the organisation.

Applicants should have a sound value base, excellent communication skills and a good understanding of the needs of children, young People and their families who live in East Lothian. The successful candidate will need to be flexible as this role may require working out with office hours.

Relevant Qualifications
You must be educated to at least HNC/SVQ 3 (SCQF 7) in Social Care or another relevant discipline and able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

As the duties of this role require you to effectively travel to successfully undertake the full remit of the role, you must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.*
