An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Council Support team as a Business Support Co-ordinator (BSC) supporting our Development and CRCP Teams. This key role involves line-managing a team of administration staff who provide essential support to a range of Council services.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to fill this vital position.
Key Responsibilities:
Line management of team, ensuring effective performance, development, and support.
Overseeing the delivery of high-quality administrative and operational support across multiple service areas.
Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of support functions within the Infrastructure team.
Supporting continuous improvement and service efficiency initiatives.
Collaborating with senior managers and service leads to align support with operational needs.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Proven supervisory or line management experience, ideally within a public sector or administrative environment.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and lead a team through change.
A proactive and solution-focused approach to service delivery.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
Work Environment:
The successful candidate will be office-based initially at John Muir House, Haddington with the potential to explore hybrid working arrangements in the future, subject to service requirements and performance.

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to HNC or SVQ Level 3 in relevant discipline e.g. administration and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
Level 1 Disclosure Clearance
This role requires Level 1 Disclosure Clearance to allow access to the Public Sector Network. ELC will submit a Police Act Disclosure application on behalf of the preferred candidate and receipt of the subsequent certificate will be required prior to commencement.
