The predicted salary is between 31650 - 43607 Β£ per year.

Temporary until 31st March 2027. Days of working are negotiable. To start 10th August 2026. Applications are welcome from current probationers pending attainment of full registration with the GTCS. The position is a temporary, part-time appointment for a Teacher of Mathematics. Working days would ideally be Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Dunbar Grammar is a six-year, fully inclusive, comprehensive, non-denominational and co-educational school. It serves the town of Dunbar and the surrounding area. The present building was opened in 1961 and is situated in an attractive site in the centre of Dunbar. It has spacious playground areas and a games field within the school grounds. The school is fully equipped for disabled access. The school has been completely redeveloped as part of East Lothian Council's Private and Public Partnership scheme and as a result boasts excellent facilities, including a Games Hall, Fitness Room, Drama Studio and Recording Studio.

Job Details:

  • Teaching relevant subject through S1-S6.
  • Subject to the policies of the school and the education authority the duties of teachers, promoted and unpromoted, are to perform such tasks as the Head Teacher shall direct having reasonable regard to overall teacher workload related to the following categories:
    • Teaching assigned classes together with associated preparation and correction
    • Developing the school curriculum
    • Assessing, recording and reporting on the work of pupils
    • Preparing pupils for examinations and assisting with their administration
    • Providing advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education
    • Promoting and safeguarding the health, welfare and safety of pupils
    • Working in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals
    • Undertaking appropriate and agreed continuing professional development
    • Participating in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review
    • Contributing towards good order and the wider needs of the school

  • Registered with GTCS as a teacher of relevant subject
  • Permanent Posts: GTCS Full registration (General)
  • Temporary Posts: GTCS Full registration (General) / Provisional registration
  • PVG Membership
