This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Directorate Management Team and provide senior clinical and strategic leadership to our crisis and specialist teams in City & Hackney. You will have a range of managerial responsibilities within the service, from line management of consultant psychiatrists and doctors in the teams, to strategic leadership, clinical governance, and involvement in financial oversight. The Directorate Management Team is based at Brooksby House, Homerton Hospital.

Main duties of the job:

  • There is 1 Associate Clinical Director post (0.2FTE) available which has been vacant for several years - it is a fixed-term 3 years appointment.
  • This is a key post within the directorate. The delivery of safe, high quality, value-led and sustainable crisis and specialist mental health services are a key element of the mental health services provision in City & Hackney.
  • The Crisis and Specialist teams include, but may not be limited to, Mental Health Liaison and the Crisis Pathway (HTT, CAT, Crisis Café, HBPoS), Perinatal Services, neurodevelopmental teams, and Psychological Services including SPS.
  • This role requires particular liaison skills to develop good working relationships with bodies outside of ELFT which also have responsibility for the people of City and Hackney.

Qualifications:

  • Essential criteria: Senior Clinician, Consultant or equivalent non-medical staff.

Personal Skills:

  • Essential criteria: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex work dynamics in, and between teams.
  • Commitment to working with service users in ongoing services development.
  • Cultural sensitivity, ability to work with a diverse population.

We also provide psychological therapy services to the London Borough of Richmond, and provide Forensic services to the whole of North East London. We provide services in urban and rural settings, sometimes in our inpatient units, but mostly in the community close to where people live. Integrated care is key in making the best use of resources and providing effective care.
