What will you be doing? You will help protect the safety, health and wellbeing of residents and visitors to East Lindsey through compliance and enforcement activities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking food safety and health & safety inspections
- Complaint and infectious disease investigation
- Sampling
- Initiating remedial action including the issue of informal and statutory notices
- Attendance at Court when required
There are over 2000 registered food businesses across the vast district of East Lindsey which encompasses the popular destination coastal strip of Skegness, Ingoldmells and Mablethorpe, small market towns and sprawling countryside across the Lincolnshire Wolds.
What do we need from you?
- Hold the Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) in Food Control/Premise Inspection or equivalent, granted by a body recognised by the CIEH and meets the competency framework under the current food law code of practice issued by the FSA.
- A BSc or MSc (Hons) Environmental Health – accredited by CIEH, or equivalent
- Hold EHRB or CIEH Registration, or be working towards registration by completion of the CIEH Environmental Health Professional Pathway or Competency Development Portfolio.
- Have experience of carrying out food safety official controls in a local authority environment
- Manage a varied workload including inspections, investigations, and business advice.
