We are looking for a part‑time Facilities Assistant to support the day‑to‑day running of our premises in Mablethorpe. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining clean, safe and well‑organised environments and is comfortable carrying out practical, hands‑on tasks. This is a part‑time role of 12.5 hours per week, typically 2.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Working hours will be agreed and can be either 6:00am‑9:00am or 3:00pm‑6:00pm. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will support the day‑to‑day operations of Mablethorpe Library, ensuring the building is safe, clean and well‑maintained for staff and visitors. You may also need to provide occasional cover at Mablethorpe Business Centre.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the cleaning and caretaking duties of the Library.
- Carry out practical tasks such as cleaning and basic maintenance, moving and handling equipment or materials as needed.
- Perform scheduled checks, including weekly fire alarm tests, monthly emergency lighting checks, and routine health and safety inspections.
- Provide occasional cover at Mablethorpe Business Centre.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a facilities, maintenance, or caretaking role is desirable.
- Able to carry out practical tasks and solve problems.
- Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and work well with others to contribute to a positive team environment.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures, or willingness to learn.
