We are seekingan experienced and motivated Business & Finance Manager to join ourleadership team. This is a senior role with responsibility for all aspects offinance, contracts, governance, premises and IT, ensuring the practice remainsfinancially sustainable and strategically prepared for the future.
Main duties of the job
Work effectively with thepractice management team including the Operations Manager, to ensure smoothrunning of the practice and patient services.
Lead practice finance:budgeting, forecasting, payroll, cashflow and reporting.
Maximise income from GMScontract, QOF, IIF, DES/LES, PCN and private services.
Oversee procurement, suppliercontracts, and ensure best value for money.
Lead on CQC preparation,ensuring all requirements are met and maintained.
Ensure compliance with GDPR,Data Protection, FOI; act as Caldicott Guardian.
Oversee premises, facilities,and IT systems including business continuity planning.
Support the partners withstrategic planning and represent the practice externally.

Job responsibilities
The Business and Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial and business operations of the GP practice. This includes managing budgets, accounts, and payroll, monitoring income and expenditure, and ensuring compliance with NHS and statutory financial regulations. The role supports strategic planning, business development, and operational efficiency, helping the partners and management team make informed decisions for the sustainability and growth of the practice.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in financial and business management (preferably within NHS or healthcare).
- Strong analytical, IT and business planning skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of NHS primary care finance (QOF, IIF, DES/LES).
- Knowledge of governance frameworks including CQC, GDPR, Data Protection, FOI.
- Recognised finance qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA).
- Experience of premises or contract management.
- Experience of working with PCNs or ICBs at a strategic level.
