On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a temporary experienced skilled Mechanical Engineer for a 2 month contract which could be extended depending on the current team's workload.
Working as part of a dynamic Maintenance team, the successful candidate will focus on ensuring that machinery is installed and maintained to a safe operating condition and is available for maximum production utilisation to complete proactive and reactive maintenance and project work on site.
Planned maintenance activities are carried out by the team weekly on each line, and a rapid reaction to corrective maintenance activities is expected. Safety is the highest priority within the business, and all team members are expected to work within and create documented procedures including risk assessments and permits.
Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out routine system checks.
- Maintenance of die plates and blades for production.
- Completing major projects required on site from the installation of new machinery to the upgrading of existing equipment.
All work is carried out to the highest standard, and training will be provided to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation.
Shift pattern: 7.30am-3.30pm - 3 days per week.
Skills and experience required:
- Skilled mechanical engineer with good mechanical skills and experience.
- Qualified to relevant City and Guilds or NVQ standard with experience of working on and maintaining mechanical equipment including the use of power tools.
