Up to £17,****** (FTE £35,******) per annum, depending on qualification/experience

The Exciting Role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Training Development Coach to support apprentices completing the Children Young People Level 4 and Level 5 standards across Lancashire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong occupational experience in residential and community children’s services who is ready to move into, or continue within, an apprenticeship coaching role. You will coach, guide and challenge apprentices in their workplace, helping them build the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to succeed in professional practice and achieve their End Point Assessment. The role is primarily workplace-based coaching and assessment, with some planned teaching and learning activity, including small group workshops and knowledge sessions to support knowledge development and professional practice.

Who This Role Is For:

  • An experienced apprenticeship coach or assessor, or
  • A senior practitioner or manager from industry (Early Years or education support) who is ready to transition into a coaching role and understands the difference between managing staff and supporting apprentices to learn, reflect and progress safely.

  • the ability to translate workplace practice into learning and development

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Conduct regular workplace coaching sessions and progress reviews
  • Plan and facilitate teaching and learning sessions, including workshops, professional discussions and knowledge-based activities to support apprentices' progress.
  • Coach apprentices to develop professional practice and evidence their KSBs
  • Provide developmental feedback and set clear, measurable targets
  • Prepare apprentices for timely and successful EPA outcomes
  • Deliver small group workshops or classroom sessions to support knowledge development
  • Support learner confidence, resilience and accountability
  • Work closely with employers to monitor performance and standards
  • Maintain accurate records using OneFile and college systems
  • Embed safeguarding, Prevent, personal development and professional behaviours throughout delivery
  • Support achievement, retention and high-quality learner experience

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experienced apprenticeship coaches/assessors, or Senior practitioners or managers from children’s services ready to transition into coaching,

Essential:

  • Recent and relevant occupational experience at Level 4 and/or Level 5 working with children and young people across both residential and community pathways
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
  • Ability to coach, support and challenge learners appropriately
  • Confidence facilitating teaching and learning in small group or workshop settings
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to travel to employer sites

Desirable:

  • Assessor qualification (CAVA/A1 or equivalent)
  • Experience delivering apprenticeships or work-based learning
  • Experience delivering small group or classroom-based learning
  • Knowledge of CYP apprenticeship standards and EPA requirements
  • Experience using OneFile or similar e-portfolio systems
  • A genuine passion for apprenticeships and a commitment to helping every learner reach their full potential.

Support to achieve assessor qualifications can be provided where required.
