A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Professional Construction Lecturer. The role will support the further development and delivery of our higher technical qualifications and take the lead on the introduction of T-Levels. You will oversee the development of the curriculum plan for the T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction and develop an employer network to support industry placements and projects for learners completing the T Level programme. The successful candidate will be primarily based at Accrington and Rossendale College but will be required to travel across sites. This role has a market premium payment attached of up to £3,000 per annum approved for three years in the first instance. For candidates who have experience of delivering on the Construction T-Level qualification we prefer, but we also welcome applicants who do not have this experience. This position may suit an experienced practitioner, a newly qualified teacher, or a trainee teacher looking to support their qualification through our Trainee Teacher programme.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Delivering T Level Design, Surveying and Planning and Civil Engineering.
  • Developing and leading the curriculum plan for the T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction.
  • Establishing an employer network to support industry placements and employer set projects for learners.
  • Teaching in evenings and supporting students throughout the programme.

Qualifications

  • 4 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
  • Degree or higher in construction, architecture, surveying and design or a related field.
  • Experience working in the construction sector and willingness to complete outward facing engagement activities with schools and employers.
  • Qualified teacher status; an initial trainee post will be considered for candidates with strong industry background.
  • Eligibility to join the Teachers' Pension Scheme.
