The Exciting Role

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a talented and student‑focused Community Teacher to join our enthusiastic Employability and Professional Skills team on a part‑time basis. The role will involve delivering on our AAT Accounting and Bookkeeping programmes at Levels 1, 2 and 3, with a potential introduction of Level 4 in the future.

Delivering learning programmes to adult learners, the ideal candidate will focus on embracing the college ethos that every learner will achieve their full potential and positively represent the college both internally and externally, at all times. Our programmes are aimed at individuals aiming to upskill and develop their careers or progress into employment within the sector.

The role will be primarily based at our Lancashire Adult Learning (Northlight) and Accrington & Rossendale campuses; however some travel may be required. The expected start date for the post is 24 August 2026.

Please note that if you are successfully shortlisted for interview, the process will involve the delivery of a 20‑minute microteach. Details of the topic will be shared with you following confirmation of shortlisting.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Deliver on our AAT Accounting and Bookkeeping programmes at Levels 1, 2 and 3, with a potential introduction of Level 4 in the future.
  • Deliver learning programmes to adult learners, embracing the college ethos that every learner will achieve their full potential and positively represent the college both internally and externally, at all times.
  • Be primarily based at our Lancashire Adult Learning (Northlight) and Accrington & Rossendale campuses, with some travel required.
  • If shortlisted, deliver a 20‑minute microteach during the interview process.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Degree or higher‑level qualification in a relevant subject area or appropriate professional qualification.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve one within the first 3 years of appointment).
  • Driving licence and access to own vehicle.
