A position has arisen for a Stores Person working in our Catering stores within our busy Hospital Catering Department. The role involves managing the storage and safekeeping of goods in the Catering stores area.
The post is in a busy hospital kitchen. Store Persons manage the storage and safekeeping of goods in a store or warehouse. They receive goods from suppliers, check for damage, and store them appropriately. They track the movement of goods and handle all paperwork related to receiving and dispatching goods.
The candidate should hold their Food Foundation Level 2 certificate or Basic Food Hygiene certificate and have experience working in a large industrial kitchen.
They should be able to work under pressure, work off their own initiative, and be able to work as part of a large team.
Our core focus is Patient Care and recuperation.
The organisation operates from three main sites: Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), Furness General Hospital (FGH), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH), along with several community healthcare premises.
RLI & FGH offer a range of general hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various consultant-led services.
WGH provides general hospital services, an Urgent Treatment Centre, and supports non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three hospitals provide planned care, including outpatient services, diagnostics, therapies, day cases, and inpatient surgery. Additionally, local outreach services and diagnostics are available across Morecambe Bay.
