An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Children and Young People’s Therapy Team in Buckland Hospital, Dover.

Main duties of the job

We encourage an evidenced-based, outcome-focused approach to meeting the needs of our service users. We provide assessment and intervention based on a child’s individual need regardless of their age (0-19 years).

Person specification

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 year\’s post-qualification experience
  • Relevant paediatric experience at undergraduate/post-graduate level

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration

Additional Qualifications

  • Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development
  • Evidence of relevant post-graduate training in paediatrics

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance
  • Experience of being involved with clinical audit/service improvement
  • Evidence of advanced clinical reasoning skills
  • Ability to assess for and prescribe specialist equipment for children/young people with complex presentations

The ability to converse easily and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for all customer-facing roles.

Most positions require a Disclosure and Barring check and will be exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Posts working regularly or unsupervised with children or vulnerable adults require an enhanced check.
