An exciting opportunity has arisen within Women’s Health care Group to join the management team in the role of Lead Sonographer for Women’s Health services. This post holder will be the clinical and operational lead. The Post holder would be joining the team at an exciting time where the vision for our department is being shaped for the future and as Lead Sonographer the post holder would play a pivotal role in leading the changes across all of our sites, working with both internal and external stakeholders and imaging networks to promote and deliver excellence.

The Lead Sonographer will be a champion in their field of work, bringing innovative solutions to patient care. The role defines professional development and influences at strategic level. As such, you will play a pivotal role in the integration of clinical practice, education and research findings. You will be able to initiate clinical service developments and deliver improved outcomes for our patients. It is an exciting opportunity for the post holder to lead with the obstetric sonographer team supported by the senior care group to shape and embed tailored service to fit around the direction women’s health services endeavor to achieve, providing holistic care and support for women and birthing people throughout their pathways.

Main duties of the job:

Person specification:

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire a team.
  • Able to create a team ethos and demonstrate motivational skills.
  • Competently undertake a wide range of ultrasound examinations.
  • HCPC registered MSc or equivalent level of knowledge.
  • Management qualification or working towards one.
  • In depth experience post graduate in obstetric/gynaecological scanning.
  • Show a caring attitude to patients, staff and colleagues.
