The predicted salary is between 40219 - 43414 £ per year.

We are looking for an experienced HR/OD Adviser to join our team to support our people agenda with us. Covering employee relations case work, organisational change, job evaluation, learning and development and much more, this role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills and networks, as well as knowing you are making a positive difference to your East Herts colleagues and ultimately the people of East Herts.

As with all councils, East Herts is facing financial challenges and the outcomes of the Local Government Review / Devolution agenda, so we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running to add to our small team as we move at pace to help the council positively move forward. What will you be doing?

  • Provide day-to-day ER advice, support and guidance to managers and staff all across the Council
  • Managing casework from within your allocated services
  • Lead on and/or participate in a range of people related projects including restructures and supporting organisational development activities that support our People Ambition Strategy
  • Helping managers think creatively about recruitment
  • Support the learning and development activities of the council

About you

  • You understand how local government / councils work, preferably have worked in one
  • You can communicate clearly and positively with staff at all levels and councillors
  • You are able to produce well researched, succinct and persuasive business cases and reports
  • You are able to learn our systems and support the development of policies and processes
  • Able to help coach and develop managers and staff
  • You are a team player
