The predicted salary is between 51126 - 56549 £ per year.
We are seeking an experienced, passionate and results driven individual to lead our Pollution Team and deliver quality services to our residents and businesses. Possessing an extensive knowledge of the relevant legislation, codes of practice and guidance, you will ensure that the council undertakes and meets all our obligations associated with pollution control and public health related issues.
You will need a qualification in Environmental Health and detailed knowledge and experience in work areas including statutory nuisance, air quality, public health functions including drainage and public welfare burials, LAPPC, contaminated land, private water supplies. Ideally you will also have experience in a supervisory role, however we are able to support someone looking to take their first step into a more senior position.
You should be committed to delivering excellent customer service and building and maintaining effective relationships with officers, members and other key stakeholders and partners to resolve problems effectively. Strong communication, negotiation and mediation skills are essential.
You will be able to demonstrate a track record of dealing with complex cases, contributing to business process improvement, and leading by example. The position will comprise a hybrid style of working, as a mix of both home and office-based working, to suit the work / life balance of the successful applicant.
