East End Homes is a community-led and locally based housing association in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Our mission is to provide services that meet the needs and aspirations of local residents. We own and manage over 3,900 homes across five estates - Glamis, Holland, Island Gardens, Mile End, and St George's. We operate from offices in the heart of each of our communities and run four community centres. About the Role
The Building Safety Coordinator will work within the Building Safety Team to help deliver their programme of building safety compliance work to buildings across Eastend Home estates. The principal role of the Building Safety Coordinator will be to coordinate resident safety and provide administrative support to ensure Eastend Homes meets its statutory obligations under the Building Safety Act 2022, The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) and specifically The Fire Safety (Residential Evacuation Plans) Regulations 2025. The Building Safety Coordinator will be the lead point of contact for allocated HRBs with regard to record management, maintaining documentation of compliance activities, involving the use of “Risk Flag” and other bespoke compliance management systems. The Building Safety Coordinator will be the named resident contact for allocated HRBs and lead on timely and appropriate resident consultation.
Responsibilities
- Provide resident liaison support for Fire Safety, Building Safety and planned investment projects.
- Assist with the management of the Building Safety email in-box, responding to incoming correspondence from residents regarding fire safety issues.
- Assist with the management of the correspondence database and the development of the Resident Engagement Strategy for each High-Rise Building (HRB).
- Assist in the development and delivery of bespoke Resident Engagement Strategies for each of EEH HRBs.
- Assist in the development of building safety cases for all identified high risk buildings within the scope of the Building Safety Act.
- Assist the Compliance & Building Safety Manager to ensure that all EEH’s identified high risk buildings are managed and maintained in accordance with the requirements of the Building Safety Act.
- Work closely with colleagues in Repairs, Technical Services, Estates, Housing and Asset Management to assist in the delivery of compliance safety work and services in all EEHs properties.
- Support the compliance team in ensuring that exposure to risk from a Health and Safety or Statutory Compliance failure is minimised.
