Job Introduction

Are you passionate about supporting learners in their journey to becoming skilled professionals in Early Years and Education? East Durham College is seeking a dedicated Assessor to join our team and play a vital role in guiding and assessing students on Early Years and Teaching Assistant programmes.

What Youll Do

  • Provide competence-based assessment and support to learners in work placements.
  • Collaborate with employers, college staff, and care teams to ensure learner success.
  • Track student progress, provide feedback, and support development.
  • Liaise with placement officers and course lecturers to review learner performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold quality assurance standards.

What Were Looking For

  • A background in Childcare and Education with a Level 3 or higher qualification.
  • Assessor qualifications (TDLB D32/33 or A Units) or willingness to work towards them.
  • Experience in vocational assessment and working with young people/adults in education.
  • Strong knowledge of Early Years Educator competencies and qualifications.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and professional integrity.

Desirable

  • IQA Qualification (TAQA Level 4 or equivalent)
  • Level 3 or higher teaching qualification
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
