Here at EDC, we have an exciting opportunity for a well-organised and self-motivated Health, Safety and Environments Manager to join the East Durham College Team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Main Duties of the Role

The purpose of the post is to provide leadership, advice, guidance, and support in all health, safety, and environmental matters throughout the college. This role also involves promoting a positive health and safety culture amongst staff, students, contractors, and visitors. Main duties include delivering on stakeholder management, service delivery, innovation, continuous improvement, and general college responsibilities.

Essential Requirements

  • NEBOSH Diploma / NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a health & safety role
  • Experience managing or leading health & safety within the education sector
  • Experienced Health & Safety Trainer
  • Ability to prepare and present briefing materials/reports to various audiences
  • Knowledge of risk management
  • Practical knowledge of health & safety legislation
