Job Summary

East Dunbartonshire Council\’s Development & Investment Service has a vacancy for the post of Project Manager – Major Asset Projects. The successful candidate will join the Major Asset Projects team to deliver a portfolio of capital investment projects across Education, Community and Leisure sectors across East Dunbartonshire.

The Major Asset Projects team provide client-side project management services on behalf of East Dunbartonshire Council by working closely with internal stakeholders and leading multi-disciplinary consultancy teams to develop, design and build new assets. Since its formation in 2014, the team have led the delivery of over Β£180m of capital projects in support of East Dunbartonshire\’s Local Outcome Improvement Plan.

The Council seeks to appoint a Project Manager to join the Major Asset Projects Team, who lead multi-disciplinary project teams through the full project lifecycle, from inception and feasibility to design and construction.

This exciting opportunity requires a candidate who can demonstrate experience of successfully undertaking a similar role previously, is highly organised and has excellent communications skills. They should have a track record of excelling in project management, good leadership skills, a sound technical understanding of Prince 2 Project Management principles and of the RIBA Plan of Work 2020.

The successful candidate will project manage complex property projects across the Education, Community and Leisure sectors which all support the delivery of East Dunbartonshire\’s Local Outcome Improvement Plan and will contribute towards the Council\’s Net Zero Carbon ambitions.

The post benefits from a hybrid working model with time split between home, office at the Council\’s Broomhill Depot, Kirkintilloch and on-site.

PVG / Disclosure Scotland

The following criteria applies to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential criteria

Where the post you are applying for is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.

Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate\’s first salary payment.

In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee\’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR &OD Manager.

Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee\’s final salary.

The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
