Job Summary

Please note salary will be pro-rated for part-time and term-time hours.

Hours –  working 20 hrs per week,  (Monday to Friday 10am – 2pm).

\\n

We have a vacancy for the post of Housekeeping Assistant at Castlehill Primary and ELR.  This post is part-time permanent, working 20 hrs per week, Monday to Friday.

\\n

The successful candidates will be based at Castlehill Primary and ELR, but may be required to provide support in any East Dunbartonshire Council primary school.

\\n

The Housekeeping Assistant will support the delivery of lunch and snacks to children in a caring and supporting manner in the school, ensuring the school dinning environment is prepared and ready for lunch. They will contribute to achieving high standards of hygiene and safety within the school, adhering to Health & Safety guidelines, including hazard analysis procedures involved in food handling, preparation of lunches and snacks.  They will also support the cleaning routines of the school dinner halls to ensure a safe, hygienic environment.

The successful candidate should have knowledge of related regulations pertaining to the delivery of safe food and knowledge of Child Protection of vulnerable children. They should be possess good organisational and time management skills. They will be able to work on their own initiative but be an effective member of the school team.

PVG / Disclosure Scotland

The following criteria applies to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential criteria.

Where the post you are applying for is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.

\\n

Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment. Successful candidates who withdraw their application after the check process has started will be invoiced for the cost of the check.

\\n

In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR &OD Manager.

\\n

Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.

\\n

The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
