Job Summary
East Dunbartonshire Council are looking for a Roads Operative to join their Roads Network team.
Reporting to the Squad Leader, the post holder is responsible for undertaking practical routine road maintenance repairs and emergency works, laying bituminous and non-bituminous materials, resting ironwork and street apparatus to line and level.
The operative will take instruction from the squad leader and other senior members of the team and comply with the health and safety policies.
The operative would be expected to drive council vehicles (if licenced) and operate a range of plant and tools.
Working to the service level agreement as specified by the Council whilst ensuring a high standard of customer service is delivered.
You will be required to participate in the Road Network Team Winter / Summer Maintenance activities.
Applicants should be self-motivated and able to work flexibly within a team environment as well as reliable and conscientious.
You should have experience in a Roads Maintenance environment with experience in a wide range of road activities and plant required.
A basic Cat B driver’s license is essential however preference would be given to LGV candidates and those who hold a current Street works Qualification.
