This post is only available to all permanent and temporary employees and agency workers currently on assignment within East Dunbartonshire Council. We have an excellent opportunity for the right person to join our East (Kirkintilloch and Twechar) Estates and Facilities Management Team. The successful applicant will be based at William Patrick Library in Kirkintilloch undertaking the role of Facility Officer.

As the Facility Officer you will work in a team, using a proactive, organised, and methodical approach to facilitate the effective running of the cleaning and janitorial services within William Patrick Library.

Working Hours:

The post hours are 37hrs per week, working to a 2-week rotation shift pattern over 52 weeks per year.

Shift Pattern:

  • Day Week 1: Monday 0800 til 1630hrs, Tuesday 0800 til 1630hrs, Wednesday 0800 til 1630hrs, Thursday 0800 til 1630hrs, Friday 0800 til 1600hrs, Saturday Off, Sunday Off
  • Day Week 2: Monday 1200 til 2030hrs, Tuesday 1200 til 2030hrs, Wednesday 1200 til 2030hrs, Thursday 1200 til 2030hrs, Friday Off, Saturday 0900 til 1700hrs, Sunday Off

Where the post you are applying for is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council. Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment. Successful candidates who withdraw their application after the check process has started will be invoiced for the cost of the check. In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR.
