Job Summary
This post is only available to all permanent and temporary employees and agency workers currently on assignment within East Dunbartonshire Council.
This is a 23 month temporary post which would suit someone with experience of working within school leadership or central teams. The successful employee will require to have completed at least 2 years continuous service with East Dunbartonshire Council following full registration with the GTCS.

This role is crucial in supporting the educational of care experienced learners across East Dunbartonshire, ensuring they receive the opportunities and support to succeed.

Taking cognisance of The Promise, The Whole Family Wellbeing Fund and Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) the Scottish Government aims to fulfil children\’s rights to be raised safely in their own families, for as long as it is needed.
The role of the Virtual Service Officer is to work with East Dunbartonshire families, schools, communities, and partner organisations to build capacity and providing seamless and holistic support that is wrapped around their individual needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to take forward key developments in support of the ambitions of The Promise for East Dunbartonshire Council.

Where the post you are applying for is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.
Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate\’s first salary payment.
In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee\’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR &OD Manager.
Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee\’s final salary.
The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
