Job Description
This post is only available to all permanent and temporary employees and agency workers currently on assignment within East Dunbartonshire Council.
\\nWork pattern - 17.50 hrs per week, term time (0730 – 0915 then 1530 – 1715).
\\nPlease note that salary will be pro-rated for part-time and term-time hours.
\\nYou will support the Education Service to ensure pupils with Additional Support Needs are transported between home and school, in line with personal requirements and Council procedures and school processes.
\\nYou will have a pleasant tolerant manner and a proven capacity to establish positive relationships with children and young people. Experience of working with children and young people with additional support needs and an interest in their development as well as previous experience of working as a bus escort is desirable.
PVG / Disclosure ScotlandThe following criteria applies to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential criteria.
\\nWhere the post you are applying for is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.
\\nPlease note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment. Successful candidates who withdraw their application after the check process has started will be invoiced for the cost of the check.
\\nIn specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR &OD Manager.
\\nShould an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.
\\nThe criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
