Hours: Full Time - 37 hpw

Salary: Band M - £46,675.20 to £52,509.60 FTE

Here at East Coast College, we are seeking an inspirational and forward-thinking Head of Department for Health & Social Care to lead, develop, and grow our highly successful curriculum area. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator and leader to shape high-quality learning experiences that prepare students for meaningful careers in the health, care, and community sectors.

As a key member of the College Leadership Team, your experience, knowledge and passion will drive excellence in teaching and learning, support staff to achieve their full potential, and ensure our students receive an outstanding education that reflects both industry standards and sector developments.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Health & Social Care department.
  • Lead, manage, and inspire a team of lecturers and support staff, promoting a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum frameworks and quality processes.
  • Ensure compliance with awarding body requirements and contribute to successful Ofsted outcomes.
  • Use data effectively to monitor performance, raise attainment, and enhance student experience.
  • Manage resources, budgets, and staffing to ensure efficient and effective departmental operations.
  • Champion safeguarding, inclusion, and student wellbeing.
