Job Description

The duties of a teacher working in East Ayrshire Council are defined in Annex B of the national agreement \”A teaching profession for the 21st century\” and the Standard for Full Registration (SFR). Challenge, support, and inspire all learners to achieve the best possible outcomes through the development and delivery of an innovative and creative curriculum. Assist with the promotion, delivery, and integration of key objectives in relation to those identified within the Education Plan and the Community Plan.

Requirements

The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants will be required to become a PVG Scheme member or be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update before a formal offer of employment can be made. PVG records are constantly updated; any relevant information will be discussed with the applicant prior to employment.

The Individual

This is a temporary part-time post based at Littlemill Primary School, Rankinston, until 19 December 2025. The hours are 28 per week, with salary ranging from £40,305 to £50,589 annually (full-time) or £32,244 to £40,471 (pro-rata). For more information, contact Simon Leitch at East Ayrshire Council.
