To undertake training as an Apprentice Joiner and to assist in all Joinery repairs and all refurbishment work to Council properties; to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the Council’s key objectives; specifically in relation to the Community Plan, Shared Commitments, Single Outcome Agreement and Best Value.
Responsibilities include following the national guidance in relation to pre-employment checks namely “Safer Recruitment Through Better Recruitment”. During your application process, you should provide details of a minimum of one appropriate and relevant reference.
The individual must be aged between 16-24 or up to age 29 if care experienced or have a disability. There are 3 full-time temporary posts based at Burnside Street, Kilmarnock. This post is temporary for 4 years to allow the successful candidate to complete their apprenticeship. The rate of pay for these posts is £13.45 per hour, moving onto a percentage of the relevant grade in year 4.
As part of the recruitment and selection procedure, if your application reaches the next stage you will be required to attend for a skills test and a formal interview. The skills testing and formal interviews will take place between Monday 1 June to Friday 26 June 2026. All applicants must be available to attend between these dates in order to be considered for the role.
