To undertake training as an Apprentice Electrician and to assist in all electrical repairs and refurbishment work to Council properties; to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the Council’s key objectives, specifically in relation to the Community Plan, Shared Commitments, Single Outcome Agreement and Best Value.

  • Employment References: We follow the national guidance in relation to pre-employment checks namely “Safer Recruitment Through Better Recruitment”. During your application process, you should provide details of one appropriate and relevant reference from your current or most recent employer. The reference must be from an appropriately senior manager and not from a former peer operating at the same level.

The Individual:

  • To apply for these posts you must be aged between 16-24 or up to age 29 if you are care experienced or have a disability.
  • There are 2 full-time temporary posts available based at Burnside Street, Kilmarnock.
  • This post is temporary for 4 years to allow the successful candidate to complete their apprenticeship. Start date is August 2026.
  • The starting rate for these posts is £13.45 per hour, moving onto a percentage of the relevant grade in year 3.
  • As part of the recruitment and selection procedure, if your application reaches the next stage you will be required to attend for a skills test and a formal interview.
