Job Description
Assist with the provision of professional planning activities delivered within the Operations Section of Governance Services whilst undertaking the Assessment of Professional Competence in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the Council\’s key objectives; specifically in relation to the Community Plan, Shared Commitments, Single Outcome Agreement and Best Value.

The Individual
East Ayrshire Council is offering an opportunity to a recent, or soon to be, town planning graduate. This role sits within our busy Development Management team and provides an interesting early career opportunity. Previous incumbents have built knowledge and experience within the role and progressed to promoted posts within and outside the Council.
The post sits within our newly created enforcement team and will focus on planning enforcement while offering wider experience across the Development Management function. You will receive support and training and be involved in enforcement investigations, planning applications and general enquiry work.
We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who can work as part of a team to provide high-quality customer service to our varied stakeholders and contribute to betterment for the East Ayrshire environment and its people. The post is permanent full-time and based at the Opera House, 8 John Finnie Street, Kilmarnock. Hours are 35 per week, Monday-Thursday 9:00am-5:00pm and Friday 9:00am-4:00pm.
The full-time salary is between ÂŁ34,453 and ÂŁ37,365 per annum.
The work style for this post is \”Mobile\” – 20-49% of time in an office or other work location; the admin base is the Opera House. You will work at your base or another agreed office location 1 to 2.5 days per week and the remainder at home or other locations as required. All office-based employees (except those working in schools) are expected to work toward the higher end of their allocated workstyle.
