Assist with a range of supports that focus on providing nurturing care and promoting the learning and development of all children within the Early Childhood Centre. The needs and unique circumstances of each child will shape the response and approach to this. All work undertaken is child centred, promotes independence and creativity and seeks to support the promotion, delivery and integration of the Council’s key objectives as they relate to early learning and child care.

There is a requirement to be flexible in Early Childhood Centre location within East Ayrshire to meet the needs of children. There is a requirement of the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Council.

Any information that is disclosed on a PVG Scheme Record or Scheme Record Update, if relevant to the post being applied for, will be discussed with the applicant prior to any formal offer of employment being made.

This is a Permanent full time post based within the Peripatetic Early Years Service at Crosshouse Campus, Crosshouse. The hours of work are 35.00 hours per week to be worked at the direction of the line manager. The full time salary of the post is between £27,937 - £29,247 per annum.
