Job Purpose

Are you enthusiastic and passionate about delivering excellent customer service and programmes within local communities? We are looking for people to engage proactively and positively with children within various primary schools across East Ayrshire (see attached list) to facilitate their personal, social and educational development through the planning and delivery of Bikeability 2 in line with Cycling Scotland guidance. Successful applicants will promote and encourage safe, active travel in line with the early intervention, prevention and sustainable communities priorities of the Vibrant Communities Service across East Ayrshire in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of East Ayrshire Leisure’s Business Plan.

Rate of Pay

Rate of Pay will be ÂŁ14.83 per hour.

Applicants must be available to travel to various schools on a regular basis to carry out sessions during the school day, from 23 February 2026 until 27th June 2026.

Additional hours will be available to cover various programmed events on an \’as and when required basis\’.

Additional Information

We follow the national guidance in relation to pre-employment checks namely “Safer Recruitment Through Better Recruitment”. The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Leisure.

Please note:- PVG members\’ records are constantly updated with any new vetting information that arises. Any information that is disclosed on a PVG Scheme Record or Scheme Record Update, if relevant to the post being applied for, will be discussed with the applicant prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
