Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine Senior Clinical Fellow

Annual salary: £72,000 per annum based on an average of 42 hours per week.

Contract: 12-month fixed term contract (starting in February or August 2027).

Responsibilities:

• Working alongside the other emergency services to provide pre-hospital critical care involving the management of seriously ill or injured patients who may be trapped or require specialist interventions before transport.
• To provide safe secondary critical care transfer between hospitals.
• To participate in the EAAA clinical governance programme by contributing to clinical case reviews, governance days and teaching. This will include research and audit in conjunction with external partners.
• Participate in clinical case reviews.
• Undertake research and audit.
• Undertake simulation training with the clinical team.
• Take a full role in organising and participating in the charity’s Clinical Governance Days.
• Maintain the clinical database (HEMSbase) and assist with outcome measurement analysis of the trauma and cardiac arrest data sets.
• Participate in the development and review of clinical and non-clinical SOPs.
• Maintain currency and excellence with medical skills and procedures.
• Maintain regular statutory training and continuing professional development.
• Provide supervision to medical and paramedic students on electives when required.
• From time to time, the post holder may be required to work at any of the Charity’s sites in line with organisational needs.

• Interview date: Interviews will take place on Monday 16 & Tuesday 17 March.
• Please note this is not a LET-B recognised training post, and you will not receive a National Training Number or a CCT in PHEM.
• You will be trained by East Anglian Air Ambulance as a member of a specialist pre-hospital emergency medical team, who provide the full range of pre-hospital medical interventions.
• This role will partner a critical care paramedic and may lead the clinical team, responding to a wide range of critically ill patients across the East of England.
