Overview

We are seeking motivated Emergency Care Assistants to join our Acute Medical Services team, supporting the delivery of exceptional care across the Acute Medical Unit (AMU), Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), and the Short Stay Unit (SSU).

Training, responsibilities and duties

This position offers a structured training programme designed to equip you with essential clinical competencies, including baseline observations, ECG recording, cardiac monitoring, venepuncture, cannulation, and basic life support. You will also gain experience in wound care and closure techniques, urinalysis, pregnancy testing, and assisting patients with mobility, nutrition, hygiene, and comfort.

Working alongside the nursing team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and high-quality care environment. You will also become familiar with the layout and operation of medical equipment and uphold best practices in health and safety at all times.

Assessments and timeline

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a virtual information and guidance session on Wednesday, 12th November 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Following this, shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a Math\’s and English assessment on Monday, 17th November 2025.
