Position Overview

We are recruiting for a Clinical Rotational Oncology Pharmacist who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. You will work closely with nursing, medical staff, and patients, supported by a team of oncology pharmacists, to deliver pharmaceutical services on day‑case units and wards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the oncology pharmacist in clinic, ward and day‑case units, providing pharmaceutical care to cancer patients on a rotational basis.
  • Ensure prescriptions are screened clinically to promote rational use of drug therapy and evaluate the appropriateness of the selected regimen.
  • Provide highly specialised advice regarding the pharmaceutical care of cancer patients to patients, relatives, and other health professional colleagues, including senior consultant medical staff.
  • Support core services at MVCC pharmacy, including clinical screening, dispensing and checking prescriptions, requisitioning inpatient requests, dose‑banding chemotherapy, controlled drugs, clinical trial prescriptions and TTAs.

Qualifications and Experience

Previous experience of working in a hospital or community pharmacy, and any previous experience in oncology, would be desirable. Pre‑registration trainees are also welcome to apply.

Compensation & Benefits

You will receive a High‑Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,552 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata.
