Job overview
We are recruiting for a Nurse Team Leader who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to lead our team within the dynamic SACT day unit at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. If you enjoy a challenge and are ready to take on a leadership role, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Our day unit, equipped with 20 treatment chairs, operates from 08:00 to 20:00, Monday to Friday, providing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies to adult patients.
In addition, you will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,552 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata.

Main duties of the job
The Nurse Team Leader will be responsible for delivering a high standard of specialist nursing care to all patients within MVCC and coordinating the overall management of the Unit.
Facilitating the education and support of qualified and unqualified staff and participating in the development of nursing practice in the clinical area.
Working independently/autonomously without direct supervision, accountable for own professional actions.
Take an active role in deputising and supporting the Unit Sister.

Qualifications
- RN1
- In possession of Oncology or Haematology Care modules
- SACT accredited course or competencies
- BSc / Msc
- Counselling Skills
- Mentorship or teaching course
- Proven experience at Band 5 in Oncology / Haematology
- Working with learners
- Handling distressed patients and carers and other staff members
- Change management
- Working with chemo care or electronic prescribing systems
- CVADS
- Audits
