Purpose of the Role

The Technical Sales Engineer is the technical backbone of the emerging commercial team in Spain, bridging sales, technical product expertise and the customer experience. The role translates customer needs into scalable hardware, software, and integration solutions, supports the full sales cycle with deep technical expertise, and ensures successful deployment and adoption post-sale. This is primarily a technical role with a strong customer-facing dimension and will be central to winning and retaining business through credibility and expertise.

What You Will Do

  • Pre-Sales Technical Support
    • Act as the primary technical expert in customer engagements, supporting Sales in complex deals
    • Translate customer requirements into tailored EV charging solutions (hardware, software, integrations)
    • Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, and solution designs
    • Support RFPs, tenders, and proposals with technical input and feasibility validation
    • Address and overcome technical objections throughout the sales process
  • Solution Design & Integration
    • Design end-to-end solutions considering site requirements, power capacity, and charging use cases (SDU, MDU, fleets, CPOs, utilities)
    • Ensure compatibility with back-end systems (CPOs, EMSPs) and integration protocols (OCPP, OCPI, APIs)
    • Collaborate with partners and internal teams to ensure seamless implementation and scalability
  • Post-Sales & Partner Enablement
    • Deliver technical onboarding and training to customers and partners
    • Support Customer Excellence with complex troubleshooting (3rd line escalation) and technical issue resolution while Easee establishes the local market
    • Gather structured aftersales feedback to continuously improve the customer experience
  • Product Adaptability & Market Feedback
    • Contribute product localisation efforts for the Spanish market — identifying gaps, requirements, and regulatory constraints
    • Act as the voice of the customer towards Product and Engineering
    • Provide structured insights on feature gaps, integration requirements, and competitive positioning
    • Stay current on Spanish and EU regulatory frameworks (e.g. V2G, AFIR, local grid regulations)
    • Monitor market and technology trends relevant to the Iberian EV and renewables landscape
  • Partner & Ecosystem Management
    • Build and maintain technical relationships with Charge Point Operators (CPOs), energy companies, utilities, and software/backend providers
    • Ensure system interoperability and performance optimisation across the ecosystem

We Believe You’re a Good Match If You Have

  • A background as an electrician or electrical engineer, with 5–8 years of relevant experience
  • Strong working knowledge of EV charging or the renewables sector; hardware/software experience at minimum
  • Familiarity with integration protocols such as OCPP, OCPI, APIs, AMQP
  • Understanding of site electrical infrastructure, grid constraints, and installation requirements
  • Awareness of regulatory frameworks relevant to EV charging in Spain and the EU

Commercial & Interpersonal Skills

  • Commercially aware and confident in customer-facing settings
  • Able to translate complex technical topics into clear business value for diverse audiences
  • Strong communicator — articulate, credible, and well-presented
  • Structured problem-solver with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable working across commercial and technical stakeholders

What You Need to Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 5–8 years of experience in EV charging, renewables, energy, or a related technical-commercial role
  • Proven experience in technical pre-sales, solution design, and customer-facing delivery
  • Fluent in Spanish and English — both written and spoken to a professional standard. Catalan is a plus
  • Proficiency in relevant tools (e.g. CRM, MS Office)
  • Travel frequently across Spain
