Teaching Associate in Anthropology of Religion (Temporary Cover and Part Time)

The Faculty of Divinity is seeking to recruit a part time (0.5TE) Teaching Associate in the field of the Anthropology of Religion. This role is fixed term to provide temporary cover for 21 months. The expected start date is 01 October 2026.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Anthropology or a closely cognate field and an established research focus on the Anthropology of Religion. Candidates will be expected to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and examining in the Anthropology of Religion, as well as to perform some administrative duties. The person appointed will be based in the Faculty of Divinity in Cambridge.

  • A one-page statement on how your pedagogical approach equips you to deliver high-quality teaching tailored to first-year undergraduates taking an introductory course on the Anthropology of Religion;
  • A recently published research article, or a chapter from your doctoral dissertation.
  • The names and contact details of two referees who are familiar with your work.

The closing date for applications is midnight (BST) on Tuesday 21 July 2026. Interviews are planned for August.

This post is fixed-term for 21 months or the return of the post holder, whichever is earlier.
