The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

My client is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer for an initial 3 month contract for work in London. The candidate should as default work from our office at least 3 days a week, but this can be negotiated depending on the candidate.

The tasks will cover both traditional offshore site characterization work and support to jack-up activities under my clients' guidelines and QA/QC:

  • Review of leg penetration and spudcan-quay wall interaction analyses provided by consultants;
  • Review of leg penetration analysis and vessel suitability;
  • High level jack-up installation assessment using in-house tools and methods.

Other potential ad-hoc tasks:

  • Supporting scoping, planning and operations for geotechnical site investigations and laboratory testing;
  • Analysing and interpreting large geotechnical datasets to deliver high-quality site characterisations and engineering soil/rock properties for design and installation assessments;
  • Supporting engineering assessments for jack-up installations;
  • Other tasks aligned with the competencies above and support offshore wind farm site characterisation and related engineering activities.

Key competencies

  • Have proven experience in offshore site characterisation and analyses of in situ data and laboratory test results;
  • Have in-depth experience with planning, scoping and execution of offshore geotechnical site investigations, including operational and in situ techniques;
  • Have in-depth experience with Leg Penetration Analyses and engineering assessments applicable to jack-up installations;
  • Have proven experience with processing and validating geotechnical data, including AGS data handling and with writing Geotechnical Interpretation Reports (GIRs);
  • Have knowledge of the geotechnical input required for foundation and cable design, installation constraints and understanding of the interfaces with different engineering teams;
  • Have a high degree of personal responsibility and accountability and capable of working with different tasks in parallel;
  • Have strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills and enjoy working closely with colleagues and project teams;
  • Must be able to speak and write English fluently;
  • Must be result oriented.
