Our client are a contractor on the Anglian Water Framework that are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead site delivery, drive programme and cost control, and manage specialist suppliers across construction works. You’ll supervise and mentor the site team, own programme and budget performance, and ensure contractual compliance, quality, and safety throughout.
Key Duties
- Lead the site team: Manage, supervise, train and mentor the team to optimise their contribution and performance.
- Review contractual agreements; develop working methods, programmes and forecast costs with the Client, Contracts Manager and specialists/suppliers—identifying inaccuracies or inconsistencies. Be fully conversant with specialists’ contract conditions.
- Develop programmes and forecast budgets; assess actual programme and productivity weekly, take corrective action where required, and report changes to the Contracts Manager and Commercial team.
- Positively manage the programme so specialists provide the right resources and skills without impeding construction progress; liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure inspection and test plans (ITPs), risk assessments (RA) and method statements (RAMS) are reviewed, approved and adhered to.
- Communicate issues of non‑conformance and contractual correspondence with site and commercial teams; maintain comprehensive records of resources employed on additional works.
Skills & Experience
- Degree‑level qualification in a Civil Engineering‑allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering with vocational training in Engineering.
- Strong understanding of Engineering Principles and extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices.
- Contracts expertise: Knowledge and understanding of construction contract law and forms of contract through experience and formal training; fully conversant with specialists’ contract conditions.
- Relevant CSCS card.
- Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management.
- Proven ability to supervise site teams and liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
