The Quantity Surveyor will assist in the successful delivery of a portfolio of HV schemes in and around the South West that include HV Cabling, Overhead Line and Substation projects.
Key Duties
- You will assist in validating contractor measurements, quantities, and valuations for payment purposes.
- Review and confirm that works completed align with project milestones and contractual claims.
- Assist project managers in maintaining accurate financial forecasts and cost records.
- Contribute to the preparation and review of compensation events and contract variations.
- Support the Project Manager in managing multiple projects across the network (including 132kV/33kV and 11kV schemes).
- Maintain daily and weekly site diaries, photographic records, and quality documentation.
- Participate in RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Actions, Issues, Dependencies, Decisions) reviews to ensure full visibility of project delivery performance.
- Liaise with designers, engineers, contractors, and operational teams to facilitate smooth handover to business-as-usual.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- Experience within electrical infrastructure, utilities, or civil engineering environments desirable but not essential.
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management principles.
- Competent in cost verification, progress measurement, and assurance reporting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
