Platform Manager London (Hybrid) | Full-time, 35 hours per week
About the Role We’re looking for a Platform Manager to lead the delivery, security, and evolution of our core IT platforms. You’ll be at the forefront of our cloud-first strategy, guiding the design and implementation of highly scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructures across Azure, VMware, and Nutanix.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll coach a team of platform specialists, shape long-term roadmaps, and ensure our technology is always reliable, innovative, and secure.
What you’ll do
- Lead the design, delivery, and security of platform services across datacentre, cloud, and campus technologies.
- Define and maintain strategic and tactical roadmaps (6–36 months) for platform evolution.
- Drive DevOps practices – automation, CI/CD, and integration of cloud-native technologies.
- Guide the adoption of Zero Trust security principles and manage SIEM tools like LogRhythm.
- Provide 3rd-line support and act as a technical authority in governance forums (CAB, TDA).
- Manage vendor relationships and contribute to overall IT strategy.
- Lead and develop a specialist team, ensuring they grow and succeed.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience leading platform or infrastructure teams (4+ engineers).
- Expertise in cloud-first environments with strong skills in:
- Microsoft Azure (IaaS, RBAC, Defender for Cloud)
- VMware vSphere
- Nutanix HCI
- Strong knowledge of platform security – Zero Trust, SIEM, incident management.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps practices (automation, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible).
- Excellent communicator – able to explain technical concepts to both engineers and business leaders.
- Experience in ITIL-based service delivery.
