Earthstream Global is seeking an experienced and motivated Commissioning Engineer to join one of our international renewables clients who specialise in the design and construction of utility scale solar parks. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the commissioning, energisation, testing, and handover of large-scale solar projects, helping accelerate the transition to clean energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support commissioning activities for utility-scale solar PV projects
  • Coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning schedules with EPC contractors, DNOs, ICPs, OEMs, and project stakeholders
  • Review commissioning procedures, test documentation, and inspection reports
  • witness and verify electrical testing including: HV/LV systems, Inverters, Transformers, Protection systems, SCADA and communications
  • Support grid compliance and energisation activities
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during commissioning and start-up
  • Ensure all commissioning activities are carried out safely and in line with industry standards and project requirements
  • Manage punch lists, defects, and final handover documentation
  • Produce commissioning reports and maintain accurate project records
  • Support operational readiness and transition to O&M teams

Requirements:

  • Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience commissioning utility-scale solar PV projects
  • Strong understanding of HV/LV electrical systems and grid connection processes
  • Familiarity with protection testing, SCADA systems, and inverter technologies
  • SAP/AP or HV authorisation experience
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites
