The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The consultant will be part of a project team where trust, integrity and accountability play a fundamental role in the collaboration it takes to execute a project successfully. Collaborate amongst the electrical installation and commissioning supervisors to establish a high degree of trust.
Proactively establish and maintain good professional relationships with all stakeholders, especially main contractor's staff and workers, and internal stakeholders. Facilitate day-to-day collaboration on site between contractors and internal stakeholders, and efficient installation and electrical outfitting, testing, and commissioning.
Ensure quality in relation to workmanship during electrical installation. Be present in day-to-day planning and supervision, participating in toolbox talks, site coordination meetings, installation work, and test & commissioning activities. Ensure that commissioning within the defined technical area(s) is executed safely in accordance with industry standards and national legislation.
Ensure that testing and commissioning are properly coordinated and documented, in accordance with processes, using only accepted procedures. Supervise and proactively support that the work is carried out in compliance with the project HSE rules and local legislation. Align with and report to the Electrical Installation and Commissioning Manager. Responsible for following up on contractors' deliverables within agreed scopes.
Perform day-to-day supervision and QA/QC during the Contractors' electrical installation of HV Primary and Secondary systems. Installation and commissioning progress reporting. Carry out comprehensive documentation review of completed test documentation and electrical schematic drawings.
Facilitate planning, coordination, and participation in Contractors' SIT activities, ensuring all relevant test protocols are being followed and that all applicable safety systems and procedures are being adhered to. Record quality observations (punches) and highlight potential NCRs. Supervise Contractor Pre-energisation activities. Supervise Contractor Post-energisation checks, on-load tests, and verification of the stability of the protection systems.
All work is on site in the contract specified city with potential for an occasional business trip to factory acceptance tests. All costs for transport, accommodation, and food to/from and in the contract specified city lie with the consultant. In case of a business trip to anywhere other than the contract specified city, flights, accommodation, and food are covered by the client.
All safety training (L-AUS, GWO, HUET with CA-EBS, medical UKOG Chester step test) lies with the consultant, mainly for offshore related contracts and may be required under certain conditions for onshore related contracts.
The candidates must have 10 years hands-on experience with the installation and commissioning of up to 400kV Primary and associated Secondary electrical equipment on onshore substations. Commissioning of low voltage electrical distribution systems, both AC and DC associated with Primary and Secondary systems.
Have a completed degree or vocational training within electrical engineering. Speak, read, and write English at an advanced level. Excel at establishing and maintaining good collaboration through acknowledging communication with stakeholders.
