Civil Engineer – Utility-Scale Solar – Contract

We are looking for a highly motivated Civil Engineer with proven utility-scale solar experience to join our growing renewable energy team. In this role, you will take responsibility for the civil engineering design, planning, and delivery of large-scale solar projects, ensuring they are executed safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support civil engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility to construction and commissioning.
  • Develop and review designs for site layouts, grading, drainage, access roads, and foundations for utility-scale solar projects.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, electrical and structural engineers, contractors, and permitting authorities.
  • Manage site investigations, surveys, and geotechnical assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, planning permissions, and industry standards.
  • Support tendering and contractor selection processes.
  • Monitor civil works on-site, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to specifications.
  • Identify and mitigate technical and contractual risks throughout project delivery.

Experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of civil design for solar farms, including site grading, drainage, and structural interfaces.
  • Familiarity with permitting, environmental regulations, and local construction standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
