We are seeking an experienced Grid Connection Project Manager to oversee the delivery, adoption and energisation of a new 132/32 kV substation connecting a utility-scale solar PV park to the UK electricity network.

This is a senior client-side role involving the technical supervision of the appointed EPC/ICP contractor and close coordination with the DNO/Transmission Operator, asset owner, utilities, advisers and other project stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead engineering and design supervision for the grid connection and substation works
  • Manage the connection process through commissioning, adoption and energisation
  • Coordinate the ICP during the design and construction phases
  • Review designs, technical submissions and project documentation
  • Lead technical meetings with utilities, contractors and stakeholders
  • Produce design-review reports, meeting minutes and progress documentation
  • Coordinate third-party technical advisers and support the asset owner
Essential requirements:
  • Must be based in the United Kingdom
  • Must be available to travel to Hasland, Chesterfield, at least monthly and when required at key project stages
  • Demonstrable experience delivering 132 kV or comparable HV substations
  • Proven UK grid-connection, DNO/Transmission Operator and ICP experience
  • Experience within utility-scale solar, renewable energy or power infrastructure
  • Strong technical, project-management and stakeholder-coordination capabilities
  • Availability to commence on or around 1 August 2026
