EarSwitch creates new breakthrough sensing and data technologies for next generation earphones, headsets and health. We develop sensing solutions to be used as medical monitors, discreet human interface devices and communication tools.
As a Senior, experienced Electronics Engineer, you will utilise your skillset and experience to develop our in-house capability in electronics engineering with a focus on building proof-of-concept prototypes and oversee full lifecycle development to products in production. Working in a fast-paced start-up, you will need to be flexible in your job description and be prepared to work on physical assembly right through to contributing to and advising on strategic company decisions.
You should be familiar with analogue and digital electronics, including digital signal processing techniques, power management, Bluetooth, common digital protocols and MCU programming. You will be expected to become an expert in the field of medtech technologies, including working within an ISO13485 quality management framework and towards IEC 60601-1 compliance. You may be required to travel internationally, to build links with research teams and to present at conferences and trade shows.
Responsibilities- Contribute to all aspects of product design and development with a focus on electronics and firmware.
- Lead and advise our small technology team, taking responsibility for lab safety, quality and team development.
- Help build and (potentially manage) electronics lab in line with company growth and technical requirements.
- Design PCBAs (KiCAD) and develop non-conventional component mounting solutions.
- Support R&D activities working with external suppliers, coordinating with external and internal software and hardware engineers.
- An appreciation of working in a regulated industry, preferably an ISO 13485 MedTech environment.
- The ability to produce engineering technical reports, familiarity with requirements, design and test documentation.
- A broad and practical knowledge of analogue/digital electronics & MCU firmware development is preferred.
- Familiarity with safe working practices in a technology lab environment.
- Proven team management skills.
- Experience in biological monitoring, including sensors and signal processing is an advantage.
- Degree qualified in Electronics Engineering/relevant discipline β engineering skillset considered above qualifications for the right candidate.
